I have been searching for online resources for those affected by a parent who is clinically depressed, but haven't been successful. My mother has severe chronic depression and I've never had anyone to talk to about it. None of my friends understand what I've gone through, and still go through even though I'm on my own in college now. I'd love to talk to others who understand the struggles of feeling like a parent to their own parent. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest you try posting at the main site, which is http://www.PsychCentral.com

Other than that, I did a brief search and found the following:

http://groups.google.com/group/alt.support.depression/topics

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LavenderSkies/summary (tagged with "children of depressed parents")

You can also take a look here and find some groups:

http://psychcentral.com/resources/Depression/Support_Groups/

Unfortunately, that's all I found. I don't know if this is what you were talking about, but I hope it helps.

I also like www.depressedlikeme.com

Best,

I will look into all of these, I appreciate you taking the time to find those sites! Thank you very much!
